Acknowledgements
- We met 55 of the 62 candidates running for the local elections on 24 May and we want to thank them for engaging so readily with us. We think there is much more diversity in LE19, there are more women, young people and non Irish nationals engaging in politics and that's a good thing.
- We want to thank Noel from Garden County Radio for recording and developing podcasts for most of the events
- We want to thank Pierce Richardson from Disability Federation Ireland for working with us on this
- We want to thank the committees of: Glenart College, Cornerstone Church at The Well, Shillelagh Courthouse, Greystones Lawn Tennis Club, Imaal Hall Dunlavin, and De La Salle Pastoral Centre for providing the fantastic venues and looking after us so well
- We want to thank the community councils, forums, and groups that helped us advertise the events and encouraged people to come
- We want to thank our Secretariat members and Community Reps that put up posters, spread the word and encouraged people to come
- We want to thank the people and community groups that came to our events and engaged with the candidates. There was a lot of learning from both sides
- A suggestion has been made from a couple of people that Co Wicklow PPN should arrange sessions similar to this on an annual basis so that community groups, the public and the elected representatives can continue to inform each other. We'll discuss this with our Secretariat and our members.
